Grant Thornton LLP, the U.S. member firm of Grant Thornton International Ltd., has announced revenues of $1.74 billion for the fiscal year ended July 31, 2017. The figure represents a year-over-year increase of 5.3 percent.
The firm saw revenue growth across all three of its service lines: Its Advisory service line was up 12.6 percent over the prior year; its Tax service line increased revenues by 4.3 percent; and its Audit revenues grew 1.8 percent.
“Growth across all of our service lines is keeping Grant Thornton well positioned in a rapidly changing professional-services industry,” said Mike McGuire, chief executive officer of Grant Thornton LLP. “Client needs and business models are shifting, and innovation is an imperative. Grant Thornton is responding by focusing on our people, technology and distinctive thinking—as well as collaboration and quality. The goal is clear: Help our clients move forward.”
The year brought several important milestones for Grant Thornton. The firm launched a new branding campaign in June—‘Status Go’—that articulates its focus on moving clients forward in a marketplace defined by speed and pace. Its new state-of-the-art office space in the Washington, D.C., area, designed to maximize cutting-edge technologies and team collaboration, accommodates up to 1,500 people. Grant Thornton also promoted firm veteran Jamie Fowler to national managing partner of its Tax Services practice.
Grant Thornton received multiple accolades that underscore its emphasis on people and culture. These include recognition as one of Working Mother Magazine’s “Top 100 Companies” and as a “Top Company for Executive Women” by the National Association for Female Executives. Crain’s Chicago Business named Grant Thornton to its “Best Places to Work” list. In addition, Grant Thornton earned a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign “Corporate Equality Index.”
McGuire was elected chief executive officer by the partners of Grant Thornton LLP in June 2014. He has been with the firm since 2002.
